Reality™ EHR Product Selection Tools 

What is Reality™

Reality™ is a family of related market intelligence products developed and licensed by Medical Strategic Planning, Inc. (Lincroft, NJ) and its alliance partners, Andrew & Associates (Winter Haven, FL) and other partners. These are computerized data knowledgebases that contain information on various medical market segments spanning the in-hospital medical device and information system markets to alternate care sites, such as physician group practices. The tools are designed to extract and format useful information about these markets and the vendors that serve them, of interest to both medical providers and the vendors. Two of these products related to the EHR Market are described below. Reality Navigator™

The Reality Navigator™ is an easy-to-use product that allows a physician to select specific EHR attributes (contained in the 11th Annual Andrew & Associate EHR Vendor Product Survey) and then extract vendors that match those features from the survey. By an iterative process of selection and extractions, the physician using this product can get a good idea of the vendors that match the EHR feature landscape the physician is interested in, without having to manually navigate the printed version of the published survey.

Reality EHR Expert™

The Reality EHR Expert ™  is a much more sophisticated tool, still in development by MSP. When introduced in 2006, this tool will automate many aspects of the EHR vendor selection process without the need for an EHR consultant. The Reality EHR Expert ™ matches practices needs, preferred implementation approaches and goals to EHR vendor profiles, and provides a list of highly qualified vendors. This powerful tool will also provide information necessary for the physician to consider whether a system is likely to fall within HIPAA guidelines and requirements.

Vendor Participation Welcome

While the Reality EHR Expert ™ already has data on a large number of EHR developers, but more EHR developers are always welcome to participate and have their EHR products included on this selector. To do so requires the EHR developer to complete the Andrew & Associates online EHR Benchmark Survey, accessible from this website. There is no charge for EHR developers to complete the survey, but registration is required so we can create a secure user ID and password for you to protect your online data.
